Thomas P. Carlin is President of the Financial Training Group (FTG). FTG specializes in customized training programs for the financial services industry. He has designed and taught programs in commercial and consumer credit skills, trade finance, and presentation skills. These programs were developed for major money center banks, regional and international banks. He is a former line lender at Bankers Trust and First Pennsylvania Bank. He has a Masters Degree in International Business from The American Graduate School of International Management. He is the author of “Analyzing Financial Statements” published by The American Bankers Association. He also is the author of "A Guide to Consumer Lending" published by Robert Morris Associates.


Philip S. Hatch III is the owner of Commercial Credit Training Services, a contract training consulting company. During his 25 year banking career, he has developed and delivered numerous commercial credit training sessions, with a primary focus on federal income tax return cash flow analysis, financial statement analysis, and various small business lending topics. His banking career also includes field lending experience, having managed commercial lending relationships in several different community bank settings. He graduated from the University of Southern Maine, earning a BS in Accounting and an MBA. He also holds the Risk Management Association’s professional designation of “Credit Risk Certified” (CRC).


Phillip De Carlo is a Director of Off Campus Services and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Business and Management Sciences at Felician College in New Jersey where he conducts undergraduate and graduate courses. During his banking career he was a Senior Training and Development Specialist and Regional Sales Manager with the Bank of New York and held positions in retail branch and sales management, CRA, business development, small business banking and supervised the Credit Training Program at Rainier National Bank in Seattle. He developed several training courses during his banking career. He received his M.B.A. in General Management and Finance from Seattle University and graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.


George Bruns is a professional trainer and consultant in the field of commercial credit administration and credit policy. In his banking career he was a Senior Vice President – Senior Corporate Credit Administration Manager for TD Banknorth N.A. His responsibilities included oversight of credit policy development, the commercial credit analysis functions and credit administration. George also worked for BankBoston in a variety of specialty and large corporate lending positions. He was part of BankBoston’s Credit and Special Industries organizations, with responsibilities that included professional education programs and credit policy administration. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Business School.


VERONICA R. GRIFFITH
Ms. Griffith worked for nearly 35 years in the real estate industry. During her career, Griffith spent 15 years as Senior Vice President and Chief Appraiser for Bank One. She had oversight responsibility for a $20 billion portfolio of income-producing real estate throughout the United States. Prior to Bank One, she worked as Chief Appraiser for the RTC. Currently, she is back in private practice, specializing in education, consulting, and litigation support for the banking community.


James C. Meals is a professional trainer and consultant in the field of commercial lending. He is a 16-year veteran of Deutsche Bank’s financial services division, he held the positions of Regional Branch Manager, San Francisco and Vice President, Director of Credit Operations for both the Division’s domestic and international operations. His last position with Deutsche was Director of Risk Management Policy and Credit Training.

He began his career in a community bank before moving into commercial finance with CIT Financial.

He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky and completed his graduate work in Business Administration at Kelly Business School.


VAUGHN PEARSON has over thirty-five years of senior- and executive-level financial institutions and consulting experience in lending, credit policy, credit administration, and problem asset resolution, and currently serves as an advisor to banks that are under formal agreements with their primary regulators.

He has served in a variety of roles: chief lending officer, chief credit officer, chairman of the Senior Loan Committee, head of troubled debt restructuring, commercial lending division manager, and director of credit training/lending officer development. He has been teaching credit and credit related subjects for over 30 years.
