Course overview
This program is designed for those experienced lending and credit
professionals that have responsibility for problem loan credits, either workout or
ownership. Topics covered focus on identification and resolution of causes of
real estate loan problems.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course participants will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the following:
- How to do a detailed review of real estate lending risks both credit and real estate related.
- Identifying the causes of problem real estate loans
- The valuation issues of problem credits
- The options for resolution of problems including workout, foreclosure and deed in lieu
- Assessing and making recommendation for alternative actions.
- The sales comparison approach to value
- The income approach to value
- The cost approach to value
- Explain the issues related to appraisal review
Format and Timeframe
The FTG approach is to customize all materials and case studies to reflect the lending environment actually experienced by the participant. Classroom lecture and discussion is supplemented by group exercises to keep the course both fast paced and interesting. This course can be taught in 1 to 1 ½ days depending upon the experience level of the participants.
